DRP -- Disaster Recovery Planning.
This goes hand-in-hand with BCP and is the mechanism of recovering from a disaster.
It is not necessarily the exclusive domain of computing but the terminology within the industry has focussed its meaning to relate more to planning for computer failure.
From the computing point of view, DRP can be anything from a good backup strategy to a complete standby server farm depending on the associated trading risk.
Used in conjunction with BCP it can cover full infrastructure rebuilding projects.
Each aspect of the business should have a regular risk assessment, thoroughly understood and practised procedures for service recovery.
Grainmeads' Consultants have worked with large organisations to provide such integrated and comprehensive plans and are well placed to provide either assistance or a complete service.
